Dear colleagues,
There is no successful radiotherapy without high quality imaging! Consequentially, recent technical developments are flooding us with more and more tools for diagnosis, treatment planning, delivery and monitoring. Furthermore, translational research offers imaging possibilities for various aspects of tumor biology, knocking at the door of clinical medicine.
Physicians, biologists and physicists, whether researchers or practitioners, cannot easily estimate, which of these tools may just be toys and which may be of substantial help in the care of cancer patients.
To address this question, we will dedicate the 3rd Langendorff Symposium to “Imaging in radiotherapy”.
We invite you to participate in this interdisciplinary meeting on the relevant aspects of different imaging methods to be used in radio-oncology – with particular focus on impact on patient care.
Merging the traditions of the Langendorff Symposia and of the workshops of the working group "nuclear medicine and radiooncology" of the DEGRO and the DGN, we aim at an interesting lively meeting where international experts will exchange controversial views in vivid discussions. – In the tradition of the former meetings, “Imaging in radiotherapy” shall also merge the participants from various disciplines to a fruitful exchange of their ideas and views.
It is our particular pleasure to invite you to beautiful Freiburg in October 2009!
